How to extract images and segments from a movie.

Making the most of your movie sometimes requires that you re-use images and segments from the original material in ways that were not imagined when the footage was created. Deframe gives you a set of tools to extract and re-purpose sections of your movies.

  1. Create a new Deframe project.

Deframe projects contain a collection of video file references, along with descriptions for each extract created from a movie. To create a project, click the Create New Project button on the Welcome Screen or select File > New from the menubar.

  2. Add movies.

To add individual movies or a folder of movies, click the Import button on the toolbar or select File > Add Movies... from the menubar. You may also drag movies and folders from the Finder on to the Tray.

  3. Select the type of extraction to work with.

Click the Extraction Types control on the toolbar to work with images, image sequences, contact sheets, segments or summary extraction types.

  4. Extract images and segments.

Click the Create New Extract button on the toolbar or select the desired type from the Extraction menu. You will be presented with an extraction panel that matches the requested type of data.

  5. Export, Share, Print or start a Slideshow.

Deframe gives you a variety of options for using your extracted material.

  6. Save your project.

Deframe projects are stored in a .deframe file. To save a project, select the File > Save option from the menubar.
